Business of Food Breakfast with The Irish Examiner

Kick off the festival with a thought-provoking breakfast focused on the business of food. In partnership with the Irish Examiner and sponsored by festival partner Musgrave, this event will explore key themes shaping the food industry today. Hear insights from leading voices in the sector, MC’d by food writer Joe McNamee, while enjoying a delicious breakfast showcasing the best of local produce. Guests will also receive a goody bag to take home with local produce from Supervalu.

Little Beekeeper’s Breakfast

A fun, hands-on morning for families exploring the world of bees and honey with Hanna’s Bees. Children will learn how bees live, how honey is made, and even meet some of Hanna’s bees up close. The morning includes a honey-themed breakfast with pancakes, fruit, yoghurt and juice for the children, along with honey tasting, kids’ crafts, and pollination seeds to take home. Tickets are only required for children. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Adult entry is complimentary when accompanying a child.


Tasting Notes: A Cork Tasting Experience

Explore how simple ingredients like coffee, cacao, grapes, milk, and wheat transform into complex flavours. Hosted by Bakestone Café, Cork experts explain the roles of terroir, fermentation, roasting, and more in creating exceptional food and drink. Led by food writer Kate Ryan, the experience features Wildflour, Café Moly, The Lost Valley Dairy, Ballymaloe Cookery School and Hungry Crow, and includes a guided sensory tasting. A Coffee House Lates event, supported by Cork City Council and Cork Business Association.

Together, Mark Ahern & Sunshine Primo, present an All Killer, No Filler, set menu of Northern Thai and Vietnamese plates from their time spent living abroad. Spicy. Salty. Sour. Sweet. Pure Indulgence celebrating big bold flavours, shared plates and the best local produce. As part of Cork on a Fork, join us at Bakestone for a stylish Sunday brunch celebrating the best of Cork food and fashion.

Guests will enjoy a Blacks of Kinsale drinks reception on arrival, followed by a seasonal two-course brunch with tea and coffee.

Hosted by Helen Murphy of Daily Diva Diary, the afternoon will include the stories behind Bakestone’s dishes and local producers, before a fashion showcase from Opera Lane, styled by Breeda O’Connell, Opera Lane Stylist and Personal Shopper.

Expect easy, wearable style tips for late summer into autumn, spot prizes throughout the afternoon, and a special Five Farms Irish Cream moment to finish.
